I'd like to remind everyone that despite the [taps] recent difficulties some of our healers have had, myself included, the Wellspring clinic is more than capable of assisting the sick and injured. We've a number of very talented healers even without powers.

I'd also like to thank whoever suggested my name as a nomination for judgeship, but I'm afraid I had to turn it down. I'm not qualified for such a position. I do encourage everyone to vote when they can; we're all here together, so we should make our wishes known.

Justice, Toushi, I'm going shopping after my shift today, so please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to stock up on in the kitchen.

[ooc: forgot to add that someone can claim the nominated-her slot if they want, otherwise it's an NPC.]

[Pentaps, as if someone is preparing to write but isn't sure what to say, or if they want to say it]

Truth has gone from the sphere. We don't know if it was due to circumstances or a simple disappearance, but his journal was recovered and it no longer functions.

Justice has also been missing from work for a couple of days, but Trust has his journal and it still works. He may just be taking some time for himself. I'll be assisting with organization and administration at the clinic until he returns.

[ooc: if this would be particularly upsetting information for your character, feel free to handwave that Kazahana approached them privately to break the news. Also if you're Lezard.]

Therefore this for the second time has happened. You are irritated, how; Because I that am the practice of the uselessness, you propose that it cannot blame the people in everyone to transmit to the journal tries, as for me would like to try.

If anyone can read this, it receives in order to inform that I the people supply of the clinic this week am a little low explore the Wilderness, by the people who have returned with the aggressive injury and am moving. The importance, so you rejoice state, without worrying, it is not, if it possesses the flesh wound and supply handles you yourself, so does with home, we acquire ranking to toriaji.

Toushi, I possessed thought. I write that, or when or you speak, if you read your name cannot hear normally, or, does that happen when of the language difficulty which still we have is thought? Perhaps we may evade that. Your name is strawberry.

Could those at Medical clear a private room, please? I'm bringing someone back with me who needs it.

Hmm...it seems as though this set of illustrations might not be accurate anymore, since Mr. Stoneface has begun working on a sphere watch to go with the guard...but either way, it's good to know who to look for in a crisis, or if someone starts a fight in Smoke's bar.

It's come to my attention that with the recent disorganization in Edensphere, all the new arrivals may have extra trouble acclimating. Aside from learning where everything is, I think it's important to know who people are. Certainly people are capable of meeting new people on their own, but there are other considerations--for instance, if you find yourself in need of a guard but you don't know who they are, that's a problem.

Since we sometimes have downtime here at Wellspring, I decided to make a visual guide to certain people and groups in the sphere. I decided to start with the medical clinic since most people will be sick or injured at some point, and it's good to foster bonds between doctors and patients. But I hope to add more later.

Non-IC cut to save your flists )

I hope this is helpful and lets you recognize your friendly sphere medics. And the rest of them, too.

[ooc: Feel free to pretend the NPC medics are here, too, but PC bunnies take enough time as it is.]

As it's been more than 48 hours since the fire ended, I want to give everyone an update on the situation at Medical Isl Wellspring Island. We've continued treating patients outside of the clinic's walls non-stop thanks to all of you who generously volunteered your time and supplies. We're in decent shape for the moment, but every bit helps; Justice remains in charge of administrative affairs, but there are others on-site who are helping to organize matters if you need to speak with someone.

Many of the patients remaining at Wellspring have stabilized, but they aren't all out of danger yet. Those of you who assisted with the emergency triage only are free to return to your normal duties if they take priority, but Handmaiden and Truth, I'd appreciate it if you could continue to fit in time here along with your other responsibilities until need has lessened. Without Rabbit--

On a personal note, I'd like to thank whoever brought me to the break area with a blanket. I didn't even mean to fall asleep, and I'm not in the habit of sleepwalking, so someone must've--just, thank you.

[ooc: No, I don't know who, but I like to think someone would've kept the Most Wee Medic from faceplanting on the ground for hours.]

Since the Wilderness transformed into a nude beach, a number of you have taken advantage of its weather, which is warmer than most days up here in the tree. That's absolutely fine; you're all free to do as you will. But if you do go, please consider taking sunscreen with you. A number of people have gotten unexpected sunburns in places that don't usually see the light of day. At Medical Island, we have a number of topical creams that are soothing to burned skin, and if it's a really bad burn, the healers on staff may take action to ease symptoms sooner.

However. If you do suffer a bad sunburn in a sensitive area, the proper way to request treatment is not to drop your pants and grin in the middle exam room, then request a "laying on of hands." Not only will you not be healed, you're likely to walk away in need of other medical aid.

Thank you. That's all.

Whatever sort of game is going on down in the Wilderness seems awfully hazardous, judging by the patients we're seeing at Medical. Perhaps people should consider helmets.

Chosen, are you taking special commissions now that you run the tailor shop?

There's no reason to panic, but I'd like all medical workers to keep a close eye on things today, whether or not you're officially on duty. Between the search parties and lack of one of the access point bridges, we may need to move quickly with little warning.

For the many, many of you who have come to Medical since the ball, and for those of you who have yet to drag yourselves here--no, you are not dying. You're hung over and nothing but time can fully cure that. We have a few 'home remedies' at the clinic, so stop in if you can do so without vomiting on the carpet, but don't whine when we can't just make it go away. Drink some water and practice a little restraint next time.

As Cross has said, the temporary clinic is now operational in the Wilderness. Any Medical staff who are still evacuating, please make your way here as soon as you can; we need to meet to re-plan shifts due to the emergency. No one should be hurt by the ants as long as people don't act like fools, but that's no guarantee.

[Insert hand-drawn map of where in the bed store Temporary Medical can be found]

Kiba, let me know when you're here--I brought a few of your things from home in case you didn't have the chance, and I've found something wonderful.

Hakuteiken...be careful.

Truth--exercise caution while moving the cocoons down. I hear they have a tendency to hatch on top of people in the elevator.

Just a note to anyone injured or not feeling well--if you really need help, don't hesitate to come to Medical, but if it can wait, I suggest you hold off for a little longer. Things are still being sorted out here regarding the recent deaths.

...

Kiba. You're staying with Memory and me for a while. No arguments.

In case anyone's keeping a running tally of who's who now, I'm still myself. Though I may be coming down with something; I've felt a little feverish since yesterday, so I won't be coming to Medical today. Let me know if that's a problem, Justice.

Is my hair longer...?

[OOC: Kazahana has become Hisana, who looks pretty much exactly the same but was rather sickly.]

I want to echo Justice's call to be careful in this weather, but on the other hand, if you are honestly hurt in some way, please come to the Medical Island; don't think you have to handle it yourself. A few times I've spoken with people who seemed to think that we're only for major emergencies, but unless there's a crisis going on, anyone's free to stop by at any time; the worst that can happen is that you have to sit in the waiting area for a little while.

So be cautious in the snow—but that doesn't mean you can't have any fun. I think I like the snow. I hope we get more, if it's going to be cold anyway.

Kiba, congratulations on putting your sword together. Let me know if you figure out what happened with it,w ill you? That's so...odd.

[A long pause before the writing continues]

Hakuteiken, perhaps we might meet to discuss things.

Looks like everyone's closets have gotten back to normal. I'll miss my dresses a little; they were so pretty. But at least I won't have to get up as early in the morning to make it to work on time.

By the way, I'd like to remind everyone that while we're always ready to help on Medical Island, we don't have any magical cures for hangovers. You've really only got yourselves to blame. Perhaps try practicing some moderation next time?

Apparently that wretched game has disappeared from the Wilderness, so I'm going to explore the new terrain tonight. If anyone else goes, maybe we can explore together?
snowburned: ([not looking away])
I'd hoped these little creatures were gone for good, but it seems small annoyances like to return. People-especially stubborn idiots-should be careful if they choose to fight them, but keep in mind we're always available at Medical Island. If you come there, it's your choice whether to be healed immediately or suffer through pain and possibly infection and in rare cases, death.

It's up to you.
snowburned: ([looking downward])
I'm staying behind so I can heal anyone who might need it when the rescue teams come back, but for anyone who's gone back up...please keep an eye out for McQueen. If you haven't met him, he's tall, silly, and probably wearing leather pants. I think he's injured.

McQueen...if you can read this, please tell us where you are.
snowburned: ([not looking away])
[Obviously scrawled in a hurry]

If anyone's been hurt in the winds or during the evacuation, please just write something in your journal and one of the medical team will come to you right away.
snowburned: ([smiling against the odds])
Thanks for the invitation to the hot springs the other night, Bastet. I really enjoyed myself. I'm amazed at how you managed to get so many men to assist you, but I can't say that I minded!

Starting tomorrow, I'll be joining the medical team over on the island. I hope I won't have to see any of you, but if anyone gets injured, please come see us or write in your journal, and we'll come to you. So far I've done quite well with wounds, but I don't know if I can heal illness as well. Does anyone even get sick here?

I've still got a lot of questions about myself, but I feel a little more like I have a place here now.

[OOC: If anyone with Level 3 housing wants to be a housemate with Kazahana, drop a note!]
